The Small Ladies in Voluminous Dresses

I used to talk to these flowers imagining they were little ladies with voluminous dresses and many frills. Ladies who, with their many legs danced in imaginary balls and were my company in summer afternoons. I swear I could even hear the music and the sound of their many shoes hitting one another.

So many days have passed since my imagination was enough to entertain myself and be happy. When you are a kid, talking to yourself out loud is no sign of madness.

I used to be so entertained in this process that even when my parents were mocking me from where they were standing, it took me a while to figure it out and stop talking for a while. But, just until they left. And, I went back to that small world that only existed in summer afternoons.

I usually went back home at dusk, when the crickets were echoing their voices, and I just let the flowers scattered on the floor because after all, I could just pick some more on the following day. There was this certainty of continuity…

Today none of this happens. I no longer have so much imagination, there are no imaginary balls or someone forgot to invite me. I cannot even find these flowers that often. There is no certainty of continuity, only fear of what may be next.

No more ladies with many legs and shoes. Just me with two legs…and many shoes! 🙂

What is this seriousness that comes with age? What happened?

I grew up.

A September Wedding

I got married in September 12th, after 15 years and 6 months of dating. Yes, we were only kids when we found that extra something in each other. And we’ve been through a lot…we still do… but I believe we’re together for the good and the bad, forever.

We grew up together, so to speak. So it made sense to me to be doing this. And, in fact, this was such a crazy year that if it wasn’t for the wedding, I wouldn’t have almost nothing good to say!

So, my wedding saved my year! hehe I wouldn’t change anything that happened that day. Well, maybe the weather… because it rained a lot! But, even the rain and the fog made awesome pictures! Check for yourself. I hope you like the photos!

Have a Happy New Year!!!

God bless the Summer!

Summer is finally here!

Days are bigger and hotter, and nothing seems to be as bad and dark as it would be in Winter. I believe that brighter days are the best for your soul and mind!

I confess that I prefer Winter clothes because they always seem more glamorous. When it comes to shoes, well I just can’t decide what’s best. I mean, shoes are shoes! It’s always good! hehe

I also must confess that these shoes are one of the most awful shoes to walk in. I love them but they are extremely unconfortable and they don’t fit me that well.

But I guess that when you love a pair…you just won’t give up that easily! I am a size 4 and this is more like a size 3, so you can imagine my pain…

Enjoy your Summer, preferably in wonderful shoes (confortable if possible)!

White Obsession: Take II

If there’s such thing as love at first sight, this was it! I fell in love the moment I saw this white pencil skirt. And I couldn’t rest until I have one for myself. Yes, how shallow of me! Who cares? I got the skirt! ^^

I felt like one in a million, or like a million bucks! I felt so feminine and elegant with little (or not so little) effort!

These photos were taken during a local religious fest. Can you spot where I am? :p

Inspiration Time

PicMonkey Collage

I usually don’t post about other blogs posts. For no particular reason, it just didn’t happen before. But, I fell in love so hard for this Rock and Roses outfit that I couldn’t resist sharing it with you!

First of all, the blogger Silvia is stunning. And, basically everything that she is wearing in this post! I love the top combined with this gorgeous Zara pencil skirt (I am sooo going to try to buy it) and the Casadei shoes…well, what can I say?? And, she is in Dubai during the photo shoot, what else?

I am not sure if this kind of skirt will fit me well. You know, us short curvy girls have some struggles with these kinds of clothing. But I don’t think I can resist…

What do you think? Have you fallen in love too? Have you visited Dubai, or is it in your plans? Let me know!

Oddly Beautiful

“Beauty is the the eye of the beholder”

The things that aren’t obviously beautiful are those who speak louder to my heart. This is a collection of some oddly beautiful tattoos, dresses, animals, flowers, etc. Choose your favorite!

ImageA Flower that looks like a monkey’s face and a beautiful Moth.

This white dress is as strange as beautiful. I would so wear this on my Wedding day! The red shoes are also strange and yet very pretty.

I would definately have one of these tattoos. One is so romantic and the other one is kind of dark and funny at the same time.

I hope you liked this selection. Remember: odd is beautiful.

A Sunset & Shoes Story

You never know the little wonders that you can find if you just step outside your door and look around. These photos were taken at Praia dos Anjos, Madeira. The name means Angels Beach. It’s not the common white/yellow sandy beach, but it’s so beautiful and you can wait and see this wonderful sunset.

I was trying to prove myself that I could walk normally with these shoes in the rocks, but it became obvious that I could break a leg.

You can also have a refreshing drink at Zion Project, a small eco-friendly bar inside a container. With re-used materials you can sit on handmade couches, chairs, puffs, tables, etc.

It was a pleasant afternoon, and I am planning to go back to Praia dos Anjos, but a bit earlier, so I can have a proper sun tan!

Have a great weekend!

“One day the sun admitted,
I am just a shadow.
I wish I could show you
The Infinite Incandescence
That has cast my brilliant image!
I wish I could show you,
When you are lonely or in darkness,
The astonishing Light
Of your own Being!” Hafiz Hamidun

How to dress for a Job Interview

…Without losing your personality.

Going to Job Interviews isn’t easy. That means that either you are unemployed or are unhappy with your current job. But you can add some fun to such a nerve racking moment by deciding what to wear. At least, it’s what I do!

Black&White is a flawless combination. You just can’t ever fail. You can add some color in your shoes or accessories, and it will be perfect. So my three suggestions are all in the same shade of color. It’s important to be memorable to your employer, but in a good way, so innovate though don’t forget common sense and sobriety.

Black pants. Everyone should have a pair. These are very simple, I tried to add the “me factor” by wearing this polka dot blouse and the black vest with a bow. Of course, the color block shoes finished the look. Actually, I never thought of mixing these garments before, especially the blouse+vest, but it turned out to be an excellent choice. Do you agree?

Pants: Zara (old) Shoes: Zara AW12 Blouse: Zara AW13 Vest: Tally Weijl (old)

I cannot describe how much I love this skirt. In fact, the full midi-skirt trend is really amazing. Plain or printed, these skirts are so flattering and elegant that I simply cannot stop looking for another one, and another one! Actually, I only own this one from H&M and a dress that I bought a few years ago. And, what about that? I could never had imagined that the dress would be so IN after all this time! Fashion is really cyclic! It’s a polka dot retro dress, and I love it! I’m glad I didn’t give it away!

About this outfit specifically, I must say that it’s a powerful one. Its elegance may look through as arrogance. I have the confidence to wear it, but maybe on a second round interview. Are you with me on this?

Skirt: H&M AW14 Blouse: Sacoor Brothers (old) Shoes: Berskha (old)

Black pants. Oh, I have already talked about it. But, these are not only another black pair. It’s an envelope/baggy shape pants, from Benetton. My intention was to wear a more playful pair of black pants, in order to add originality to the B&W option. I opted by combining it with a loose sleeveless chiffon blouse that I bought at a local store. To tell you the truth, this was formerly a dress. But, I thought it would be of more use as a blouse. I guess I was right.

Basically, despite the pants might transmit the idea of a “relaxed” moment, the blouse and the heels make it more formal and fun at the same time.

I have to tell you that I only wore these two toned shoes once. It’s a size bigger and I just can’t walk properly. It’s a pitty. So, I am constantly thinking if ways to work around the problem. Any ideas?

Pants: Benetton AW13  Blouse: Local Store Shoes: Berskha AW12 Clutch: Tally Weijl (old)

Everything that you wear reveals your personality, but shoes tell more. Don’t you think? So, if the employer is not amazed by your qualities – shame on him/her – or your B&W choice, at least he can remember your shoes!

What do you think of these combinations? Would you wear? Do you like the Black&White? Tell me, I want to know!

And good luck. Some fantastic job is waiting for you! 😉
