It’s a boy! My boy…

Finally we found out our baby’s gender. Call it (future) mother’s intuition but I always felt it was a boy growing inside me. And, I was right.

Before finding out, in my head it was hard to make sense to girls’ names even though I always looked at girl’s clothing and decoration. If in fact I was having a girl I would be completely surprised. I mean, I was so sure it was a boy!

We are calling him Lucas. I love this name, it’s simple and strong. I think he will like it too. I can remember playing Sims and I always named someone Lucas!

If you give the right attention to the small details in your life, you will find patterns. These patterns usually help you to learn more about yourself and what you really like. Imagine Pinterest. If you look at all the saved Pins, you will find a few that are similar, and will allow someone else, for example, to learn that you love cats more than dogs, that you love scandinavian home decor and that you love midi skirts (okay, this is me)!

So I discovered that I really liked the name Lucas. No longer for a Sim character, but for a real boy that will come to this world February 2017…

Do you have kids? Are you expecting a boy or a girl? Did you had the right intuition about the gender? Did / do you have any fears? Tell me, tell me!

Struggling to Find Time to be Happy…

pregnancy

Have you ever felt that you should be happy about something happening in your life, but you could not find the time to be happy about it?

After some time trying to get pregnant –  in the meantime almost everything have happened except that – we are finally becoming parents February 23rd next year!  I am still a bit numb, but I am surely happy! I know I am. I just have not found time yet to stop and enjoy the new life growing inside me. And, every time I think about it, I realise it is sad.

I can imagine that many future moms are going through the same right now: having to work during pregnancy. It is what normal people do. What we have to do to provide for our family, to be independent. But, these first three to four months have been truly a challenge! Not for the pregnancy itself, but for the fact that I feel very tired – okay, this is a pregnancy symptom – and stressed out about work. I can not seem to find the time to sit, touch my growing belly and thank God and the Universe for this blessing. I keep just foreseeing the possible problems in the future.

I am writing this to try to unburden myself from this awkward situation. Not finding time to be happy…

I hope that when I find out the gender – I wanted to keep it a secret, but my husband wants to know – I finally start building my relationship with this baby… and start shopping accordingly! I really wish to feel light and happy  and enjoy this time of my life!

What about you, are you a working mom? Do you find the same problems? Any advices?

The Small Ladies in Voluminous Dresses

flower

I used to talk to these flowers imagining they were little ladies with voluminous dresses and many frills. Ladies who, with their many legs danced in imaginary balls and were my company in summer afternoons. I swear I could even hear the music and the sound of their many shoes hitting one another.

So many days have passed since my imagination was enough to entertain myself and be happy. When you are a kid, talking to yourself out loud is no sign of madness.

I used to be so entertained in this process that even when my parents were mocking me from where they were standing, it took me a while to figure it out and stop talking for a while. But, just until they left. And, I went back to that small world that only existed in summer afternoons.

I usually went back home at dusk, when the crickets were echoing their voices, and I just let the flowers scattered on the floor because after all, I could just pick some more on the following day. There was this certainty of continuity…

Today none of this happens. I no longer have so much imagination, there are no imaginary balls or someone forgot to invite me. I cannot even find these flowers that often. There is no certainty of continuity, only fear of what may be next.

No more ladies with many legs and shoes. Just me with two legs…and many shoes! 🙂

What is this seriousness that comes with age? What happened?

I grew up.

An Inspiration Photo Shoot

pregnancy photoshoot pink cherry tree

I have never used to think about marriage and kids. I assumed it as something bound to happen, at its own time, but I have never given much thought to it.

Last year, after 15 years and six months of dating the same man, we finally got married. It was a wonderful day that we have planned together and made almost everything by ourselves. We went on a cruise ship for our honeymoon and almost everything happened to go as planned.

Almost nine months later and everyone is thinking: Why aren’t you pregnant? Well, I am not. And I do not know when I will be. Besides taking the time to know my own body, I have been forced to wait again and again, due to some health issues. One of these issues happened not even one week after we return from our honeymoon!

So, I don’t know when I will fall pregnant… or if I will ever be able to have kids, but one thing I know for sure: if I ever get to be blessed with a child, I want to make a photo shoot like this photo from Pink Peonies. I absolutely love it, it looks ethereal, dreamy, magical, beautiful and innocent. Just got to love it! Congratulations to the blogger and mom Rachel Parcell, for such great taste.

As for me, the waiting continues, but I hope not for too long…

What do you think about this photo? Do you agree it is a great inspiration photo shoot? Are you pregnant or planning to get? Getting pregnant is hard for anyone else out there?

Tchau!

All is Okay…

red & stripes

Often people judge each other by their appearance and the way they present themselves. Well, these are valid basis when you do not have anything besides that.

But, me, like many people, try to hide how we actually feel. Either because we do not want to be asked again and again about what is going on, but also because basically we do not want to look sad and depressed.

This photo was taken a week ago, when I could not wear heels. Actually, a week later and I still can’t. I had a back pain that spread to my leg and, I am having dificulties walking. But I wanted to look okay.

All is okay when it SEEMS okay…

A September Wedding

I got married in September 12th, after 15 years and 6 months of dating. Yes, we were only kids when we found that extra something in each other. And we’ve been through a lot…we still do… but I believe we’re together for the good and the bad, forever.

We grew up together, so to speak. So it made sense to me to be doing this. And, in fact, this was such a crazy year that if it wasn’t for the wedding, I wouldn’t have almost nothing good to say!

So, my wedding saved my year! hehe I wouldn’t change anything that happened that day. Well, maybe the weather… because it rained a lot! But, even the rain and the fog made awesome pictures! Check for yourself. I hope you like the photos!

Have a Happy New Year!!!

First Time in Africa – Casablanca, Morocco

Well, I have to confess that Casablanca was not the best experience ever. But, the thing is that I took these awesome photos! Not everything was bad, hun?

This is Hassan II Mosque, right next to the ocean.

These were the Hassan II Mosque gardens. Along with the Mosque, this was the nicest place we’ve seen in Casablanca.

I can only say that Casablanca is not prepared for tourism. Or to be a connection harbour for cruise ships. I think that they have to change their minds about this in order to prosper and become a nicer place to stop. But, it’s also important to underline that we didn’t have any problems, and everything went as we planned.

Anyway, this was in fact the first time I laid a foot in Africa. I wish I could know a little bit more about this continent in my lifetime.

Enjoy!

Colored pants, a new look.

For such a long time I did not liked colored pants. Not for me as a woman, even worse if it was for a man. I just don’t know, but I thought it looked cheap and funny. Can’t exactly explain why I felt this way, but I did. But, as we all know, we keep changing our minds as we get old. 🙂

mens fashion

Well, lately I found myself wearing colored pants. And, my babe, as well. These mustard Scotch and Soda pants are just an eye catcher, right? At first I didn’t like it that much, and thought that he wouldn’t as well. Guess I was wrong! So, I couldn’t resist to make my first post about men’s fashion. I think he did well, so the world deserves to know! 😀

We’ve been in a cruise ship for a week and a half. It was our honeymoon. Yes, I got married, even though I haven’t posted anything about it. Just wait for the official (and stunning) photos!

These specific photos were taken at the Vatican City, in Italy. It was a quick stop, and I certainly will go back to Rome some other time in my life.

Roma 4

And, this was my outfit for this day. He did much better than I did, right? Must have been the seasickness! Hehe

Roma 3

Hope you all enjoy these photos!

How do you feel about colored pants? Have you ever been in a cruise ship, what was the experience like? And what about Italy, have you been there?

God bless the Summer!

Summer is finally here!

Days are bigger and hotter, and nothing seems to be as bad and dark as it would be in Winter. I believe that brighter days are the best for your soul and mind!

summer

I confess that I prefer Winter clothes because they always seem more glamorous. When it comes to shoes, well I just can’t decide what’s best. I mean, shoes are shoes! It’s always good! hehe

I also must confess that these shoes are one of the most awful shoes to walk in. I love them but they are extremely unconfortable and they don’t fit me that well.

But I guess that when you love a pair…you just won’t give up that easily! I am a size 4 and this is more like a size 3, so you can imagine my pain…

Enjoy your Summer, preferably in wonderful shoes (confortable if possible)!
